What exactly is the Perks Program?
The Perks Program is an initiative that CJNU offers to its co-op members – individuals, couples, and corporations – across Winnipeg, Manitoba, and beyond. Members can avail of special discounts and incentives, or ‘Perks’ offered by businesses and organizations that choose to participate in the program.
What kind of perks can be offered?
Whatever you feel is appropriate! For instance, it could be as simple as:
- X% off your purchase
- X% off if you spend more than $Y
- Free X if you spend $Y or more
- Free X – one time only
- X% off your meal – dine-in only, lunchtime only
- Spend $X or more, and [your business] will donate $Y to [a charity or cause chosen by you]
- Free prize draw - enter to win X - just show your Perks card, no purchase necessary!
But these are just suggestions – what you choose to offer, and any caveats you wish to apply to your Perk (whether it’s one-time only, an ongoing benefit, etc.), is entirely up to you!
How often can we change our perk?
As a Perks Partner, you will be able to offer our members a Perk for a period of one year from the date you become a Partner – with the option to change that Perk quarterly – with new Perks being published in March (Spring), June (Summer), September (Fall) and December (Winter). The cutoff date for any requested change to your Perk is two weeks before the start of the next quarter - or we will continue with your existing Perk.
How do we administer our Perk?
It is entirely up to you how you choose to implement, track, and validate eligibility. We do however have a couple of suggestions:
- CJNU members are issued with a membership card, which shows an expiry date. In order to use the Perk you choose to offer, we would suggest that the member will need to show you their valid membership card.
- If your Perk is made available online, you could perhaps require the member to include their membership number as part of the order process – or specify a discount code that you include in your Perks details
How and where will people find out about our perk, and our involvement in the program?
Perks, and our Perks Partners, are promoted in a number of places:
- Detailed information about all currently available Perks – as well as any terms and conditions you choose to apply – are listed on a special page on the CJNU website, along with your logo and a link to your website.
- Detailed information on all currently available Perks is emailed to our members on a quarterly basis as part of our Membership Mailer.
- The Program itself is promoted actively on air, directing people to the website to learn more.
- The Program is promoted in our newsletter, Nostalgia Notes. This is distributed to our members via email, and available publicly on our website, and physically at our Home and Remote studios.
You mentioned preferred rates on additional business with CJNU... how does that work?
As a Perks Partner, you will receive a 5% discount on any and all additional business you choose to do with CJNU in the 12-month period following the date you become a Partner. That means that whether you choose to advertise your business on the radio on a regular basis, or perhaps engage in a one-off campaign to promote a specific event that’s coming up, you’ll be getting preferred pricing as a thank you for being one of our Perks Partners.
